Owner's Story
Since the school's earliest days, Emily has been closely involved in the life of Ivybrook Academy Greenville, including serving as the school's director. One of the experiences she values most has been watching children grow during their years at Ivybrook, from the uncertainty that can accompany a first day away from home to the confidence, independence, friendships, and excitement for learning they develop along the way.
Emily believes an exceptional preschool should provide more than preparation for kindergarten. It should give children a place where their curiosity is encouraged, their individual strengths are recognized, and learning feels exciting and meaningful. Ivybrook's Montessori- and Reggio Emilia-inspired approach allows teachers to observe each child carefully and create learning experiences that build upon individual interests, abilities, and developmental needs.
Just as importantly, Emily wanted Ivybrook Academy Greenville to become a community for families. Over the years, she has watched parents meet through the school, children form close friendships, and families—some of them new to Greenville—find a sense of connection and belonging. That community has become one of the things she values most about the school.
Today, Emily remains committed to the same goal that guided Ivybrook Academy Greenville from the beginning: surrounding children with talented educators, creating a warm and thoughtful environment, and partnering closely with parents to help each child flourish. For families considering Ivybrook, her hope is that they will find more than an excellent preschool. She wants them to find a place where their child is genuinely known, where their family feels welcome, and where a lifelong love of learning can begin.
