Owner's Story
Hi, I'm Maryam Khan, co-owner of Ivybrook Academy South Fayette, alongside my husband Ali.
As a mother of three daughters, I know how important it is to find a school where your child feels safe, loved, and excited to learn. Watching my own children thrive in Montessori and Reggio Emilia-inspired environments sparked my passion for early childhood education and ultimately led me to Ivybrook Academy.
I am a registered nurse with a Master of Public Health specializing in Health Education, and caring for others has always been at the heart of who I am. My family's experience with Montessori and Reggio Emilia gave me a deep appreciation for Ivybrook's unique approach—blending the independence and hands-on learning of Montessori with the creativity and child-led exploration of the Reggio Emilia philosophy.
My commitment is to ensure every child feels valued and inspired to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing environment. Just as importantly, I believe that strong partnerships with families are the foundation of a child's success, and I consider it a privilege to be part of each family's early learning journey.
Ali and I share a deep belief in the power of education. Born and raised in Hong Kong, Ali moved to the United States at sixteen and went on to earn a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering and an MBA. Although he works full-time and travels frequently, he is an integral part of Ivybrook. His passion for excellence, problem-solving, and connecting with people helps support our school behind the scenes, and he is always eager to lend a hand whenever needed.
One of the things I'm most proud of is our incredible team of teachers. They are the heart of our school, bringing genuine warmth and dedication into every classroom. They take the time to truly know each child, celebrate their unique strengths, and create meaningful learning experiences that inspire confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning.
Thank you for considering Ivybrook Academy for your child's early education. We would be honored to welcome your family into our community and look forward to partnering with you during these important early years.
