At Ivybrook Mount Pleasant, your child walks into a calm, nature-focused environment where they're known by name, their interests, their moods, what they're working through this week. Our morning session (8:15–12:00) is the academic core: small classes, low ratios, and individualized learning that's earned a devoted following in one of the Lowcountry's fastest-growing communities.
Our afternoon session (1:00–4:30) is built the way Montessori and Reggio always built it, around the child's full day, not just the hours before noon. Neither tradition ever said learning stops at lunch. Neither do we.

I'm Heather Calhoun, and as both a mom and your neighbor here in the Lowcountry, I know how important these early years are. That's why we brought Ivybrook Academy's blended Montessori–Reggio approach to Summerville, a place where your child can explore, feel safe, and grow at their own pace.
What I've learned, both from the research and from watching children here every day, is that the quality of what happens in the room matters far more than what time your child arrives. Montessori knew it. Reggio always built around it. It's the reason our afternoon is designed with the same intention as our morning, not as an extension, not as childcare, but as its own purposeful experience.
