Lori Selgrath - School Principal
After 23 years in public education, Lori brings a depth of leadership experience, a passion for early literacy, and a genuine understanding of child development to the Ivybrook community.
In 2025, Lori relocated to Delaware County from the Lehigh Valley following her marriage to her husband, Graig. Together, they blended their families and now call Garnet Valley home — a household of seven. That lived experience shapes how she leads: Lori knows firsthand what it means for families to navigate big transitions, and she is committed to making Ivybrook a true second home for every child, parent, and educator who walks through the door.
A collaborative leader, Lori believes great schools are built on teamwork, trust, and relationships. She stays actively present in the daily life of the school and prioritizes open, honest communication between home and school — because when families and educators are aligned, children flourish.
A school that feels like home.
Lori works each day to ensure every child, parent, and teacher feels welcomed, known, and valued the moment they arrive.
The foundation: safety & love.
Skills and knowledge can always be taught. But children must first feel seen, valued, and secure before they can truly learn and grow. At Ivybrook, that isn't a tagline — it's the foundation of everything.
Learning that lasts a lifetime.
Lori's vision is simple: create an environment where every child is supported, encouraged, and inspired to develop a love of learning that stays with them forever.
Owner's Story
Ivybrook Academy in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania is more than a school — it's a community shaped by people who believe deeply in the potential of every child.
Born and raised in Mumbai, India, Shilpa and Amit moved to the United States in 2001. After years in New York and Massachusetts, they chose West Chester, Pennsylvania as the place to raise their daughter, Arya, now thirteen. Deeply woven into the fabric of their community, they bring over twenty years of leadership experience in healthcare and management — and with it, a conviction that education, like medicine, is a calling with a just cause.
Both trained obstetricians and MBAs from The George Washington University, Shilpa and Amit have spent their careers building relationships and leading with purpose. They brought Ivybrook Academy to Glen Mills not as a business venture, but as an extension of who they are — people who show up for others, in every season of life.
"We've spent our careers bringing new lives into the world. Now, we're dedicated to helping those lives thrive. As OB/GYNs who have delivered thousands of babies right here in our community, we felt called to do more — which is why we brought Ivybrook Academy to our neighborhood. Because for us, caring for children has never just been a profession. It's a purpose."
