Owner's Story

Karen and Brett Tolbert are excited to bring Ivybrook Academy to Bala Cynwyd, a place they have called home for over a decade. As longtime community members, they’ve watched families grow and thrive and are eager to contribute to the next generation’s early learning journey.

 

Karen, who studied Elementary Education at Bucknell University before earning her master’s degree in Reading Education from the University of Virginia, has dedicated herself to fostering young minds. Karen’s experience as a passionate teacher, including eight years as a preschool educator, has shaped her understanding of how to spark curiosity and confidence in children.

 

Now, she and Brett are excited to pour their hearts into Ivybrook Academy, creating a warm and inspiring space where children can explore, discover, and grow. They look forward to building lasting relationships with local families and helping little learners embark on a bright future.
