Owner's Story
Hi there—we’re the Libbys! We’re Stephanie and Tanner Libby, proud parents to Sloane (7), Tommy (5), Crew (3), and Quinn (8 months). As a growing family, we are thrilled to bring Ivybrook Academy to the Overland Park community. This half-day preschool fills a unique and important need for curriculum-based early education that is child-led, curiosity-driven, and rooted in a genuine love of learning.
Our journey together began in Champaign, Illinois, where we both earned our bachelor’s degrees from the University of Illinois. We later went on to complete our master’s degrees at the University of Arkansas. Through our years of education—and now as parents—we’ve developed a deep appreciation for learning and the powerful role it plays in shaping confident, capable individuals. Today, we both work in the medical device industry, helping bring innovative solutions into the hands of surgeons so they can better care for their patients. We feel incredibly fortunate in both our professional and personal lives, and it is our sincere desire to share those blessings with the community we call home.
As our family has grown, so has our passion for early childhood education grounded in the Reggio Emilia and Montessori approaches. We’ve seen firsthand how this philosophy supports children emotionally, socially, and academically encouraging independence, confidence, and a true sense of self. Our community is full of young children who deserve the opportunity to discover their abilities and realize their potential. The half-day model at Ivybrook Academy thoughtfully supports both children and parents, allowing space to explore interests, build confidence, and foster a lifelong love of learning—without overwhelming developing minds. We are honored to be part of your child’s early learning journey and can’t wait to grow alongside the Overland Park community.
