Annie Hays - Owner

Five years ago, Annie Hays discovered Ivybrook, a place that resonated deeply with her vision for the future. Back then, she wasn't yet a wife or mother. Still- Ivybrook family mirrored the future she hoped for: a life centered around strong family values, meaningful connections, and a thoughtful, intentional approach to early childhood.

Annie envisioned bringing a special place to my own family and to families who shared a similar vision: children staying home with their primary caregivers during those first important years, and then being gently and intentionally introduced to a nurturing preschool environment.

Now a wife, mother of two young children, and passionate advocate for early education, Annie is grateful to bring Ivybrook Academy to the Gahanna, New Albany, and Westerville communities. She looks forward to cultivating a preschool experience where families feel supported, children feel inspired, and the community feels like an extension of home – just as she had imagined all those years ago.

Meet the Team

Sarah Doughty - Director of Admissions

Sarah Doughty is a dedicated professional with a deep commitment to fostering positive and nurturing environments for children. As a proud wife and mother to six children – five boys and one girl – she understands firsthand the dynamics of a vibrant and engaging home life.

Driven by a passion for connecting with people and delivering exceptional customer service, Sarah has cultivated these skills across diverse professional experiences. Her true calling, however, lies in working with children.

At Ivybrook, Sarah is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with families, staff, and children, cultivating a warm, welcoming, and inspiring atmosphere. She is deeply invested in the growth and development of each child and continually seeks ways to positively influence their journey in partnership with the teaching team.

Outside of her professional endeavors, you’ll find her cheering on her family — whether watching the Buckeyes or off on some new adventure that brings smiles to their faces.

Ali Toles - Director of Curriculum 

Ali Toles is a passionate and experienced early childhood educator who is thrilled to be joining the team. She is eager to connect with both the children and their families. Originally from New York City, Ali relocated to Columbus in 2017. She holds a degree in psychology with a focus on child development from the University of Michigan.

With over fifteen years dedicated to the field of early childhood education, it is a true passion for Ali. Her personal life is also full, as she is the mother of three wonderful children – two sons and a stepdaughter – and shares her home with two dogs and a cat. Following a recent move to a farmhouse, she and her family are excited about the prospect of adding cows and goats to their animal companions.

In her free time, when she's not busy with her children, Ali enjoys reading and horseback riding. She is also currently learning the art of gardening and is determined to cultivate a thriving garden.
